Reaction time

Definition: Reaction time (RT) is the time elapsing between stimulus presentation (e.g., stimulus onset or some other relevant time point during stimulus presentation) and the registered onset of the participant’s behavioral response (e.g., via a button press). In fNIRS experiments, reaction times are often used as additional behavioral measurements to examine links between brain and behavior.
