Cortical (cerebral) oxygen saturation

Definition: Cortical oxygen saturation is the regional cortical hemoglobin saturation, measured by cerebral tissue oximeters based on near infrared spectroscopy methods, in the small vessels (<1 mm in diameter) of the cerebral cortex such as the capillary, arteriolar and venular bed.
