Dynamic range

Definition: The dynamic range of a given quantity is the ratio between the largest and the smallest value it can assume. In the context of NIRS devices, it often describes the range of the device operation (i.e., the range between the saturation level and the noise level). It is often further limited to the linear range between these two extremes.
