Inter-personal neural synchrony
Definition: Synchronized fluctuations of brain signals between two or more individuals observed during social interaction or when the individuals participate in joint tasks. fNIRS naturally lends itself to the characterization of inter-personal neural synchrony because of its ease of recording when two individuals are interacting. The typical setup to measure inter-personal neural synchrony is hyperscanning.
Alternative definition:
Synonym: Inter-personal brain synchrony; Brain-to-brain synchrony, inter-subject connectivity
