Oxygenated Hemoglobin

Definition: Oxygenated hemoglobin is a complex molecule where the heme group of the hemoglobin protein has formed a reversible complex with oxygen (O2) in the pulmonary capillaries. This red blood cell protein travels through circulating blood carrying oxygen to body tissues and organs where it is readily released.
